Each scout is required to complete a program of activities within each rank to advance to the next rank. The requirements and electives for each rank are outlined in the scout books provided at the start of the year.

The den leader will help the scouts advance through den meeting activities and outdoor adventures.  Den leaders must track progress of each scout to ensure they are properly recognized during the Blue and Gold and June awards ceremonies. The den leader will record progress and earned awards in TroopTrack by following the links to “Achieve.”

Prior to each awards ceremony, the pack advancement coordinator will take inventory of earned awards and sync up the TroopTrack records with the BSA database. Showing confirmation of official BSA records, the advancement coordinator may purchase the rank badges, adventure loops and other awards at the local Scout Shop on behalf of the pack committee.
